What advantages does the Security-Lock offer?

Normally, changes to domains are only ever initiated on behalf of the domain holder. But where humans or robots work, mistakes can also happen – or deliberate misuse.

  • With Security-Lock, you can prevent your domain from being changed, canceled or taken over unintentionally. Security-Lock minimizes the risk of your domain falling into the wrong hands or becoming temporarily unavailable due to a technical oversight.

  • We especially recommend Security-Lock to domain owners whose business activities are based on unrestricted accessibility on the web. The same applies to companies where problems with the domain could mean a loss of reputation or uncertainty among customers.

  • With Security-Lock you can make your .at domain even more secure.
The security lock is activated directly via helloly. Please send us an e-mail to support@helloly.com or create a support ticket in your client area.
As soon as nic.at initiates a change to your domain data, we will send a confirmation link to the security lock e-mail address you have provided. By clicking on the link, you will be forwarded directly to the nic.at website where you can view, confirm or reject the change. Please note that your Security-Lock service must be canceled in advance before a provider/registrar change.
Security-Lock Service expires automatically with the termination of the domain or after a change of domain owner. Of course, just the Security Lock service can be canceled as well- this has no effect on the functionality of your domain.
If the annual fee is not paid on time, Security-Lock will also be deactivated.
