To control how visitors access your website, there is the .htaccess file. The .htaccess is a text file in which redirections can be entered or access to certain files or folders can be restricted.
The .htaccess file is located in the root directory of your hosting in the folder public_html. If you have additional add-on domains, you will find the respective .htaccess file in the respective subfolder.
To display the .htaccess file, proceed as follows:
-
Enter the helloly customer center.
-
Within the Dashboard you will find Your Active Products/Services.
-
Next to the desired package click Log in to cPanel.
-
Navigate to the Files sectionand click on File Manager
-
In the upper right hand corner, click on Settings
-
Check Show Hidden Files and confirm with Save.
-
All hidden files (these start with a dot in the file name) are now being displayed.
-
Within the public_html directory you will now find the .htaccess file for your main domain.
If you have add-on domains, you will find a corresponding subfolder for each domain in the public_html folder. In this folder you will find the .htaccess file for this domain.
