Why do I receive an e-mail with the subject "Verification of your domain is required"?

ATTENTION: If you do not verify your domain, it will remain registered, but associated content such as websites and mail services will no longer be accessible!

In order to prevent the abusive registration of domain names, verification of the email addresses of domain holders has been carried out since 2014 in accordance with the requirements of the internet administration ICANN. This verification is required for all top-level domains. Excluded however are country-level top-level domains such as .at, .ch, .de, ... A verification is required

  • when registering a new domain and
  • when changing the contact details of an existing domain.
