How do I define a (CNAME) DNS forwarding?

There are two ways to define a DNS forwarding:

Domain-only customers

If you have only registered a domain without web hosting,

  1. enter the Helloly Customer Center via my.helloly.com.

  2. In the left menu under Domains click on My domains.

  3. Click on the desired domain in the Status column click on Active.

  4. In the right-hand menu you will find Manage the function DNS management.

  5. Here you can make your desired DNS entries and save them with Save changes to confirm.

Webhosting customers

As a webhosting customer

  1. access the Helloly Customer Center via my.helloly.com. In the dashboard you will find your active products. Select the desired product and click on Log in to the cPanel.

  2. Under Domains you will find the function Zone editor. Here you can manage your DNS redirects for all registered domains.

    1. To set an individual entry, click on the corresponding (A-/CNAME-/MX-) record and confirm with Add An ... Record.

    2. To manage all DNS entries for a domain, click on Manage. Next to each entry you will see the two functions Edit and Delete. For an additional entry, select + Add entry. After you have set all entries, confirm with Save All Records.

IMPORTANT:

It is not possible to set a CNAME record for a main domain. CNAME entries are only possible for subdomains (e.g. "www").

If you change the A Record of your main domain to point to a WIX or Jimdo website, for example, but still want to use the Helloly mail server, you must have the MX Record point to your mail server (according to your access data).
